Communication and Collaboration Instruction for the Classroom is a Web-Based Learning System (WBLS) created to instruct teachers on Open Source Software (OSS) tools for integrating technology in the classroom.

Purpose of the Course
The WBLS is a project-based course that will serve as the vehicle for content delivery and instruction and feedback on assignments. One of the major concerns of Educational Institutions is safety and security for students on the Internet. This WBLS will address these underlying concerns. At the end of this course, Teachers will create classroom wiki introducing the classroom, and providing information on Internet Safety to share with students and parents.

Goals and Objectives of Course
Teachers will use OSS tools to design content for a classroom wiki (i.e., audio, video, multimedia) to introduce technology into the classroom.

Teachers will create accounts in Gmail, Google Groups, and blogs for collaborating with colleagues on integrating technology in the classroom, and Wikispaces, Google Docs and blogs to communicate with parents and students on Internet Safety.

Timeline for the Course
This WBLS is designed as a self paced learning course. The course will be the primary vehicle for ongoing professional development for technology for Teachers and Administrators. It offers online tutorials, as well as resources that will encourage Teacher interaction and support to encourage technology use in the classrooms to meet ISTE NET-S and ISTE NET-T Standards. WBLS will be updated to meet the needs of teacher instruction, and to address changes in technology.

Objectives for each Module
